Akonix A6000 Wins NWC Award
Akonix Systems has announced that its A6000 appliance received the Network Computing Editor’s Choice Award in the publication’s IM security appliances review. Criteria included security, reporting, management, support, and value.
Compared to products submitted by FaceTime and Secure Computing, “the Akonix A6000 offered the best mix of content filtering, protection and user management, plus it was by far the best value from a bang-for-the-buck perspective, earning it our Editor’s Choice,” said Michael J. DeMaria, Network Computing’s technology editor.
Designed to protect corporate networks from viruses, worms and other malicious IM threats, the appliance controls access and enforces policies for public IM (Yahoo!, MSN etc) and enterprise IM (MS LCS/OCS, Lotus Sametime, Jabber) clients. In addition, it filters IM content to protect companies from inappropriate use, hostile workplace lawsuits and IP leakage.
Don Montgomery from Akonix said “Time and again, corporate buyers and third party reviewers select Akonix products over those from our competition.”
Akonix’s A6000 and A1000 appliances are hardened security devices, factory-configured with Akonix’s optimized operating system AkOS™ for maximum security and performance.
