Sophos earns honors in anti-virus category, ranked a top vendor for service and support
Sophos recently announced that its endpoint security solution - Sophos Anti-Virus - was named as one of the best enterprise anti-virus products released in 2005 in TechTarget's Information Security magazine "Products of the Year" awards. Sophos was ranked as a top vendor in support/service thanks to its outstanding web site.
Information Security magazine and SearchSecurity.com asked 890 information security executives and managers to assess more than 300 security products, which were divided into 12 categories.
Sophos Anti-Virus provides best-of-breed anti-virus protection for file servers, desktops and laptops on a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, Linux, NetWare and UNIX. It also protects NetApp Storage Systems.
"Anti-virus technology continues to be one of the most critical security needs for organizations," said Steve Munford, CEO, Sophos. In fact, Sophos research indicates that 1.4% or one in 70 emails is viral. "It is an honor to be named one of the best products in the anti-virus category. The award lends credibility to our customers' choice of Sophos Anti-Virus as the right solution to help them meet their network security challenges."
