| NSW Teachers Credit Union Picks Imprivata for SSO |
Stronger Endpoint Security, Impressive Simplicity, Better Business ModelMelbourne, 3rd of September 2008 – Teachers Credit Union has selected enterprise security specialist CoreSight for a key implementation of Imprivata’s OneSign authentication system. The deal is for 350 seats and includes Enterprise Single Sign-On, Authentication Management, Self-Service Password Reset and three OneSign Appliances. TCU is one of Australia’s largest Credit Unions, with more than 155,000 Members and over 2.4 billion dollars in assets. Security of TCU’s data and systems is paramount but, due to the growing number of application-specific passwords, ensuring user access had become clumsy, time consuming and a drain on user productivity. If users only had one password and one ID, it would be a huge leap forward, but we also needed strong endpoint security that we could scale up and build on in the future. TCU/s IT team agreed on the following key criteria for the product selection process:
We aspire to be the best at what we do, Thomas explains, ‘so we looked for the best solution. Imprivata's OneSign met every key criterion. It also provided for multi-factor authentication in the future, including biometrics, pass tokens or proximity badges and building access cards. OneSign offered us the flexibility we needed and the ease of use we wanted for our users. TCU’s security adviser, Dawid Bester, said the know-how of the provider was also a key aspect in the decision. ‘CoreSight demonstrated its competence early in the process, with a deep understanding of our needs and excellent technical support during the evaluation. We choose providers whose expertise will add extra benefits to our technology solutions.’Imprivata OneSign has been installed in a pilot group of users at TCU’s head office in Homebush, and profiles for major applications like the core banking system have been created. CoreSight is providing support during the implementation phase, which will soon see OneSign deployed throughout TCU’s head office and branches. |
