CoreSight partner Imprivata Inc has been recently been named Best Security Solution for Healthcare at the prestigious 2008 SC Magazine Europe Awards for the second consecutive year.
Held alongside the Infosecurity Europe 2008 conference, the awards saw Imprivata’s OneSign granted this award for the results it is delivering to healthcare organisations across the UK and Europe. These results include greater security, ease of management, and increased user productivity. Imprivata - the converged identity and access management appliance company - also received an Honourable Commendation in the Best Identity Management Solution Category at the awards.
Imprivata CEO Omar Hussain commented on the achievement; “We are honoured to have won the Best Security Solution for Healthcare Award at the SC Magazine Awards. Our continued success in healthcare demonstrates the enormous commitment we have made to creating and improving a product that is greatly beneficial to hospitals and trusts across Europe. OneSign is an authentication and access management SSO appliance designed to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes and access management requirements. It includes three separate but interconnected software modules: authentication management, enterprise single sign-on and physical/logical security system integration.
CoreSight, who have partnered with Imprivata since they entered the Australian market in mid 2007, have their first customers on board and are expecting to grow that number before the end of the financial year. "We're seeing most of the same challenges locally that face healthcare organisations worldwide. In particular the way in which technology can best support clinician workflow while at the same time enabling portability and security", a spokesperson said.
In the UK, Imprivata's OneSign supports integration with the smart cards provided by the National Health Service (NHS) Connecting for Health scheme, allowing single sign-on to both nationally provided applications, as well as those provided by the individual entities. Imprivata’s unique appliance-based approach, coupled with the support for the NHS smart card, demonstrates that OneSign is extremely simple to deploy and manage, and delivers a rapid return on investment for any healthcare organisation. “OneSign allows Trusts to protect sensitive citizen data while improving staff workflows,” said Hussain. “Users love SSO and strong authentication because it allows them to provide a higher quality of service to patients.
