Imprivata has been named as Best Security Solution for Healthcare at the 2007 SC Magazine Europe Awards. Held alongside the Infosecurity Europe 2007 conference, the awards saw Imprivata's OneSign appliance recognised for the benefits it can deliver to healthcare organisations in terms of greater security, ease of management, the removal of password problems and increased user productivity.
Additionally, OneSign supports integration with the smart cards provided by the NHS Connecting for Health scheme that operates in the UK, allowing single sign-on to both nationally provided applications such as the Spine, as well as those provided by the individual Trusts. Imprivata's unique appliance-based approach, coupled with the support for the NHS smart card, demonstrates that OneSign is extremely simple to deploy and manage, and delivers a rapid return on investment for any healthcare organisation. OneSign allows Trusts to protect sensitive citizen data while not intruding into staff workflows.
OneSign is an authentication and access management appliance designed to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes and authorisation requirements. It includes three separate but interconnected software modules:
* OneSign Authentication Management supports multiple strong authentication factors, including smart cards, one-time passwords, finger biometrics and proximity card. Users can be assigned strong authentication factors to suit their working lifestyles, and groups of users can use different tokens or factors depending on their needs.
* OneSign Enterprise Single Sign-On removes the pain of password management from the organization by easily and quickly enabling applications for single sign-on. User credentials are automatically captured and presented when requests are made to access authorised applications, while password policies can be enforced as standard across all users.
* OneSign Physical/Logical takes the next step in converging physical and IT network security. OneSign can query the leading building access systems vendor databases to ascertain user status and location, and apply policy dependent on a user's location.
